The decision to start working with a coach is an important step in the quest for faster race times, improved results, and getting your running started on the right track. With all of the coaching options available, choosing the right coach is probably the most difficult and confusing decision in the whole process. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place, as I am confident in my ability to make your running goals come true. What makes me so confident? I’ve done the research.
Expertise
- I am certified by USA Track and Field and RRCA as coach, with access to some of the highest levels of coaching expertise.
- I’ve been coaching for over 6 years at all levels of the sport, from the elite – Olympic Trials Qualifiers and Marathon winners – to the everyday runner looking to run their first half marathon.
- I’ve worked with High School, College, Professional, local elite, self described “non-runners”, young, old and everyone in between. I have experience coaching people just like you.
- I have run competitively at all levels of the sport, around the country and around the globe. I’ve trained with the best training groups in the country, Olympians, and running legends. You’ll be hard pressed to find a coach with the training and running background I possess.
- I’ve had the opportunity to train under the best coaches in the US. I’ve learned from the best and I continue to strive to learn everyday. More importantly, I am committed to translating the high end training knowledge I’ve learned over the years to your training plan.
Customized Training and Support
- The training plans you get from me, whether it be through personal coaching, customized schedules, or template plans, are all hand crafted and meticulously created. I don’t use algorithms and fancy training software. I’ve seen the results of those schedules, and they can’t match the quality and experience of a real coach with practical experience training runners just like you.
- The feedback and support I offer is unparalleled in the running industry. Do you have a question about your training? Did something came up during you training segment and need an adjustment to your schedule? With the customized schedules and personal coaching, I am only a phone call, email, or chat away. The following is an excerpt from an email I received recently (8/11/09) from a runner training for their first marathon who had purchased a training schedule from some online training site with no coach to talk with or support them:
Hi Jeff,
I got your email from the local running store as I’ve had some major hiccups in my training as of late. I’ve been running off and on for the last 4-5 years, with the most consistent daily regimen in the last year. The spreadsheet enclosed has my original plan vs. what I’ve run to date. The big drop-offs in weekly mileage start at about July 11, which is when my injury became a big issue. I’ve got everything taken care of injury wise but my biggest concern now is – with the mileage I have under my belt and the time remaining, how should I adjust the remaining training in the schedule? My next concern is about the last 8 weeks of the program, making sure I’ve built enough stamina and a proper mileage base. This is my first marathon, so I’m fairly in the dark about how the program should go, when to taper, what to eat, etc.
- In an effort to provide you the most up to date training advice and knowledge, I’ve created a one of a kind training suite. The training suite provides access to new training articles, answers to your questions, training clinics, social media, and forums to give you a unique connection to me and other runners in the program. Make training and sharing you experiences fun and rewarding.
